Study: Parents of twins more likely to divorce

A new study found that couples who have twins as their first born are more likely to get a divorce than those couples who either have no children, or have kids one at a time. And while there are no concrete answers as to why the parents of twins have slightly higher divorce rates, researchers did note that added financial and emotional stress is most likely to blame.

Divorce over 50: Make sure to consider all assets in settlement

Each divorce can have its own set of questions. Who gets the family home? How are the bank accounts going to be split up? And who gets custody of the kids? Stange Law Firm wins reversal of spousal maintenance award in the Court of Appeals

Stange Law Firm won an important decisions today in reversing a maintenance (alimony) award entered in the St. Charles County Circuit Court against a father.  The Court of Appeals agreed that the decision of the trial court was in error as to maintenance (alimony) and should be reversed and remanded. The Court of Appeals also found that the trial court "erred" in conducting an inquiry into father's religious beliefs.  

Some husbands feel trapped in unhappy marriages by the recession

The correlation between financial trouble and marital problems is well known, but a surprising aspect of the recession is that troubled economic times can delay couples from divorcing as well. Divorce mediator Rosyln Zinner writes in a recent Huffington Post article that many unhappy couples feel trapped by the recession because they cannot afford to live on their own.
