Divorce can be healthy for kids with co-parenting

Sometimes marriages just don't last and end up in divorce. And while those times can be stressful on everyone, it is important to stay level headed around children and to not use children as a weapon against an ex spouse.

Helping adult children cope with divorce

There is no set time and age that a couple decides to get a divorce. Maybe it was after just a few short months of marriage, or maybe the couple decided it was time to split after more than 20 years of marriage? Either way, if children are involved - regardless of their age - the split will most likely have some sort of impact on them.

January sees increases in divorce filings

While many look at the new year and promise to reinvent and start living life on a new track, attorneys across the country are saying they see a trend in January of people who take those resolutions very literally and decide to end a marriage.

Being a peacemaker versus a warmaker

A recent article suggests that the way for dads to have positive results in their custody cases is to be seen as a peacemaker versus a warmaker in the courtroom.  "A peacemaker does not cause disruptions.  A peacemaker is not inflammatory.  A peacemaker doesn't engage in name calling."
