Accurately knowing the paternity of a child is something that affects everyone involved. It plays a role in child custody agreements, child support and protecting a father’s rights as a parent.
And, right now it appears that 17-year-old pop star Justin Bieber has found himself in the middle of a paternity case, as a now 20-year-old fan is claiming that he is the father of her infant son.
According to the stay-at-home mother, she hooked up with Bieber when he was 16 years old and she was 19 in a bathroom after one of the star’s concerts. In July she gave birth to her son, and claims that Bieber is the only person who could have possibly fathered her child.
Now she is asking for a paternity test to prove he is the father. If the test proves that Bieber is the father, she is also requesting a substantial amount in child support payments.
As of now Bieber has denied all allegations that he is the father, and according to the Washington Post, the 17-year-old has agreed to a DNA paternity test. His team is also reportedly calling the claims “malicious, defamatory and demonstrably false.”
Of course a DNA paternity test should quickly clear up any confusion in this case, but what do you think? Do you think the 20-year-old mother is just attempting to get a lot of money in child support from the famous teen heartthrob, or do you think that there is a chance that Bieber did in fact father this child?
